QC GOV’T WORKERS TO GET P10K BONUS – BELMONTE

Quezon City government employees stand to receive a P10,000 bonus each as an expression of gratitude for their contribution to the “sound financial management” recognition received by the city government for the second straight year.

Mayor Joy Belmonte announced the bonus during the Inter-department Dance Competition at the Quezon Memorial Circle recently.

Belmonte earlier approved Ordinance No. SP-3138, S-2022, granting the said incentive to QC government employees, including those holding contracts of service, job orders, and consultancy contracts.

Belmonte also issued a memorandum circular prescribing the guidelines for the implementation of Ordinance No. SP-3138, S-2022, which was introduced by Councilors Dorothy Delarmente, Shaira Liban, Wencerom Benedict Lagumbay, and Eric Medina.

In the said circular, she instructed the City Budget Officer to release the necessary funds for the said incentive.

All department heads have also been ordered to submit the names of the employees who are entitled to receive the P10,000 bonus.

The Quezon City Council approved the ordinance after the city government earned an “unqualified opinion” from the Commission on Audit for the years 2020 and 2021. An unqualified opinion is the highest audit opinion that the COA gives to a government agency.

“The grant of additional incentive to all Quezon City government employees is imperative and of utmost necessity in consideration of the various achievements of the city government despite the challenges.”

“The grant of additional incentive to all Quezon City government employees is imperative and of utmost necessity in consideration of the various achievements of the city government despite the challenges,” the Ordinance stated.

“With the sound financial management of the city, it is high time that the gains of which they all contributed must be felt by them,” it added.
