QC STORES OFFER DISCOUNTS TO VACCINATED CUSTOMERS – CASTELO

Scores of business establishments in Quezon City are offering discounts to vaccinated customers to encourage people to get themselves inoculated against Covid-19.

In the Ever Gotesco-Commonwealth Avenue area in the city’s second district, food and service shops have launched Bakuna-Diskwento in partnership with Councilor Winnie Castelo and his wife Rep. Precious Hipolito-Castelo.

Councilor Castelo said the project offers five to 10 percent discounts to vaccinated patrons, with some establishments also giving free drinks.

“It’s our way of encouraging our people to get themselves vaccinated and protected against the highly infectious new coronavirus and the deadly Covid-19 illness it is causing,” he said.

Castelo added that the latest data showed that about 34 percent of the city’s target of 1.7 million residents have already been inoculated.

“We still have a long way to go, so we should leave no stone unturned in encouraging our people to get their vaccine,” Castelo appealed.

The Castelo couple urged other stores in the city to join Bakuna-Diskwento.

“Making this a city-wide undertaking would entice more residents to get vaccine protection,” the District 2 councilor said.

At the same time, he urged city vaccinators to take extra care in administering the vaccine to avoid breaching protocols.

“Breaches and mistakes will just delay our vaccination program. We might as well have a slow-but-sure mindset,” Castelo said.
