ROAD IN SULTAN KUDARAT IS 99% COMPLETE – VILLAR

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently undertaking final finishing works for the 16.4-kilometer Koronadal-Lutayan-Columbio-Matanao Road in Sultan Kudarat which is already 99.06 percent completed.

Secretary Mark Villar, based on a report by Regional Director Basir Ibrahim of the project’s implementing office DPWH Regional Office 12, said that the road network extends from the town of Lutayan to the town of Columbio.

“The road will provide better connectivity between Soccsksargen and Davao Region by allowing faster travel from Koronadal City in South Cotabato to the municipality of Matanao in Davao del Sur, reducing the current travel time of four hours and 10 minutes to just two hours and 20 minutes,” Villar explained.

“The nearly-completed road is seen to benefit farmers and traders by bringing expanded economic opportunities in the area.”

“As an alternate route, the nearly-completed road is seen to benefit farmers and traders by bringing expanded economic opportunities in the area,” the public works chief added.

“The project can allow better access to many hidden tourist spots.”
