ROTARY INT’L AIDS QC’S LEARNING RECOVERY FUND

In support of the local government’s call for private sector engagement to support education efforts, the Rotary International District 3780 turned over its cash donation to the Quezon City government’s Learning Recovery Fund.

District Governor Florian Enriquez personally handed over Rotary’s donation worth P310,000.00 to Mayor Joy Belmonte, signifying their commitment to education.

Also present during the turnover were First Gentleman Jun Enriquez, PDG Rey David, Past Pres Rene Cantos, Past Pres Pol Castillo, COS Lotlot Alvarez, and Schools Division Superintendent, Carleen Sedilla.

Rotary’s donation will fund learners initially from Bago Bantay Elementary School participating in QC Gabay Aral – a high-dosage tutoring program that strengthens foundational skills in reading and math.

In Rotary’s latest conference, Belmonte urged the organization to be collaborators in community building by investing in education.

“We cannot be the best if our kids are not the best.”

“We cannot imagine the best if our children are not at their best. We cannot be the best if our kids are not the best,” the lady mayor said.

She has repeatedly emphasized the need for shared commitment and timely comprehensive action promoting the well-being and interests of the children, especially in education.

“The local government continues to encourage associations and businesses to invest in learners to help mitigate the effects of learning poverty in the future workforce.”
