SENATORS GRACE POE AND CYNTHIA VILLAR REMAIN ON TOP – TRILLANES

Senators Grace Poe and Cynthia Villar have remained the leading senatorial candidates according to the latest Magdalo survey.

Poe garnered 60.6 percent, with Villar at second with 49.2 percent according to the survey conducted last March 5 to 7, 2019.

Villar is at second spot with 49.2 percent.

Lito Lapid followed at number three with 43.9 percent, then Pia Cayetano at number four with 41.7 percent, followed by Bong Revilla at number 5 with 41.6 percent. Leap-frogging to number 6 is Bong Go with 41.1 percent. He was number 16 in the Magdalo survey conducted last January.

Other candidates who made it to the top 16 are the following:

  2. Jinggoy Estrada, 33.2 percent
  3. Bam Aquino, 32.6 percent
  4. Imee Marcos, 31.0 percent
  5. Mar Roxas, 30.9 percent
  6. Koko Pimentel, 30.2 percent
  7. Sonny Angara, 29.9 percent
  8. Bato Dela Rosa, 26.9 percent
  9. Francis Tolentino, 26.5 percent
  10. JV Ejercito, 24.5 percent

According to Magdalo Chairman, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, after only a month of campaigning, the six lesser known Otso Diretso candidates have started to gain momentum.

“The Otso Diretso candidates are about to break into the top 20. Alejano is now at number 21 from number 25 in the January survey; Samira Gutoc is now at number 23 from 31; Chel Diokno is at number 25; Tañada is at number 26; while Romy Macalintal is at number 27. Pilo Hilbay, although his rating improved, still has some catching up to do at number 35.”

The Magdalo in-house survey employed a multi-stage probability sampling design with face-to-face interviews of 3,000 respondents equitably representing the voting population across different regions of the country, and has a margin of error of 1.8 percent.
