SKILLS OF PNP ALBAY’S VIP SECURITY UNIT LAUDED

“It is clear that the Province of Albay is in good hands.”

This is the message of Governor Edcel Grex Lagman expressing his appreciation to the Albay Police Provincial Office (PPO) during the simulation exercise on the assassination of political leaders held recently at the Albay Capitol Complex, Old Albay District, Legazpi City.

“The Albay-PNP is prepared for all and any contingencies pertaining to the safety of our VIPs, fellow public servants, and the general population.”

“What we witnessed today is a statement that the Albay-PNP is prepared for all and any contingencies pertaining to the safety of our VIPs, fellow public servants, and the general population. We do not take anything for granted in this province with respect to the safety of the people that need to serve without any fear that their lives will be in immediate danger,” Lagman stressed.

The police force held the SIMEX after the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

The governor believes that the simulation exercise initiated by Albay PPO Provincial Director PCOL. Fernando Cunanan Jr. is relevant and timely and should be cascaded by the chiefs of police of their respective cities and municipal police stations all over the province.

“The chiefs of police should do the same to test the police, the security forces, the local government leaders, and the barangays on their capability and readiness to respond to a crisis.”

“The chiefs of police should do the same to test the police, the security forces, the local government leaders, and the barangays on their capability and readiness to respond to a crisis,” he said.

Lagman also acknowledged the support from Police Regional Office V, represented by Former Deputy Provincial Director for Administration PLTCOL Dixon Berango, all the chiefs of police in the province, and other units of the Philippine National Police who participated in the activity.

Meanwhile, Cunanan explained that the said exercise resembles real-life situations, presenting different scenarios such as a crime scene scenario, a checkpoint scenario (including checkpoint operations and hot pursuit operations), the establishment of the Special Task Group, and more.
