SURIGAO CITY, 2 TOWNS INK DRMM INITIATIVES PACT

The City Government of Surigao, together with the Municipalities of San Francisco and Sison, recently signed a significant Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) to solidify their partnership in Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) initiatives.

The purpose of the MOU is to establish clear terms and conditions under which these involved LGUs will collaborate as DRRM partners, aiming to enhance their collective efforts in mitigating and managing potential risks and disasters.

Leading the signing ceremony were Surigao City Mayor Pablo Yves Dumlao II, Sison Vice Mayor William Avila, San Francisco Mayor Val Pinat, City Councilor Christopher Bonite, LDRRMO Miguel Ompoy, and LDRRMO Aladdin Sumampong.

“The strategic partnership between the Local Government Units of Surigao, San Francisco, and Sison marks a crucial step forward in bolstering disaster resilience and fostering effective coordination among the LGUs in the face of potential hazards.”

The MOU signing, formally witnessed by Atty. Cristina R. Pareñas and CDRRMO LTJG Threlcie A. Villaces PN, underscored the commitment and dedication of both legal and military representatives to the success of the cooperative effort.

“The strategic partnership between the Local Government Units of Surigao, San Francisco, and Sison marks a crucial step forward in bolstering disaster resilience and fostering effective coordination among the LGUs in the face of potential hazards,” Dumlao said.

“It is an embodiment of our shared commitment to prioritize the safety and welfare of our respective communities,” the Surigao mayor added.
