SURIGAO DEL NORTE GIVES TOWN P750K LIVELIHOOD AID

At least 50 residents of the Surigao del Norte town of Bacuag benefited from the P750,000 livelihood aid facilitated by the Office of Senator Bong Go and the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Caraga Region (DSWD-13).
 
“Each of the beneficiaries received a P15,000 grant that will help them revive their livelihood to augment their income,” the Bacuag municipality said.

The grant was carried out under the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), which intends to uplift the standard of living of Filipinos by providing them with training, equipment, and capital to start a business.

“The recipients lost their livelihood due to the threat of COVID-19.”


The municipality said the recipients lost their livelihood due to the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Surigao del Norte Government Lyndon Barbers, together with Bacuag Vice Mayor Sheila Mae Cebedo, and Michael Salarde of Go’s office, led the distribution of the financial grant at the Puyo function hall in Poblacion Bacuag.

In a video message, Go urged the beneficiaries to boost their businesses to help them recover from the effects of COVID-19.
