TAGUIG’S WIDENED LAWTON AVE SOON TO OPEN – VILLAR

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano, Taguig Representative Lani Cayetano recently led the inaugural ceremony for the completion of Phase 1 of the road widening project at Fort Bonifacio – Nichols Field Road, most commonly known as Lawton Avenue, in Taguig City.

“We are glad to inform the motoring public that their traffic woes will soon be over with the completion of this 1.34-kilometer road widening project that will provide better traffic flow, faster mobilization of goods and services, as well as a safer journey,” Villar said.

“This newly-widened road will reduce travel time from Bonifacio Global City (BGC) to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) by about 40 percent with its capacity to accommodate additional volume of vehicles, providing a new and safer access road to the country’s main gateway,” the public works chief added.

The project was started in August 2017 under the Build, Build, Build Program.

Lawton Avenue compliments the BGC-Ortigas Center Link Road which includes the Lawton Avenue-Sta. Monica Bridge that has been recently connected and is targeted for full completion in 2021.
