THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES WAS MY FATHER’S OTHER HOME – ALBANO

Rep. Antonio “Tonypet” Albano (1st District, Isabela) thanked the House of Representatives led by Speaker Alan Peter “Companero” Cayetano for the tribute for his late father, Rep. Rodolfo Albano Jr. (LPGMA Party-list), which was held recently at the House of Representatives.

“We thank you for this wonderful service and honor that you have given my father in the sacred halls of this august chamber,” the young Albano said in his response to the eulogies of present and former lawmakers and executive officials who were endeared to his father.

“We wish to thank you for the love and the wonderful eulogies.”

“Mr. Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, my ninang Madame President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, my distinguished colleagues, my family, ladies and gentlemen. It’s so difficult to be here today on behalf of our family, especially on behalf of my father. We wish to thank you for the love and the wonderful eulogies that came with your experiences with him from the heart. I know that my father is here today because this is his other home and he wanted to make sure that I thanked each and every one of you,” the legislator said.

The lawmaker said his father always loved the House and that he found strength in being a Congressman. 

“Every time he told me he will be stronger, he will be a congressman,” he said. Albano said his father spent 50 years of his life as a legislator.
He thanked everyone who gave their eulogy for the late Rep. Albano namely, Speaker Cayetano, Deputy Speakers Neptali Gonzales ll and Conrado Estrella lll, former President and Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, former Speakers Jose de Venecia Jr. and Feliciano Belmonte Jr., and former Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita. He also thanked former Senator Bongbong Marcos for the trust given by his parents – former President Ferdinand Marcos and former First Lady Imelda Marcos – to the late Rep. Albano.

He also thanked Rev. Fr. Carmelo “Tito” Caluag of the Archdiocese of Novaliches who mentioned during the requiem Mass that the late Rep. Albano lived a full life as a public servant. The young Albano vowed that his father’s legacy will continue in the House.

“My father’s legacy will continue in the House.”

Albano also thanked Minority Leader Benny Abante for his Invocation prayer for the late lawmaker during the necrological rites.

“To my father’s colleagues in the 18th Congress and the other Congresses before, thank you very much for the love that you have shown. On behalf of my family, we’d like to thank you for this tribute for our dearest father Rudy Albano,” he said.

After the eulogies, Speaker Cayetano handed to the members of the Albano family, memorabilia of the late Rep. Albano.
