UPHOLD VALUES AND LOVE FOR COUNTRY – LABADLABAD

As Secretariat officials and employees, as well as congressional staff of the House of Representatives gathered for its June flag-raising ceremony, Zamboanga del Norte 2nd District Representative Glona Labadlabad asked her fellow government workers to take stock of their personal values, aspirations, and beliefs.

Labadlabad was the ceremony’s guest of honor.

“At the bottom of economic problems is the weakness and corruption of the moral foundation of our society.”

“At the bottom of economic problems is the weakness and corruption of the moral foundation of our society,” the legislator said.

Noting that the activity coincides with the birth anniversary of the country’s national hero, Jose Rizal, as well as the month during which the Philippines celebrated its 125th Independence Day, the Chairperson of Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Relations and Diplomacy encouraged those present to actively support the country’s sustained efforts to alleviate poverty, defeat graft and corruption, conserve proud heritage, and promote the ultimate common good.

“We should internalize genuine love for country, self-reliance, honesty and accountability, discipline and hard work, simplicity, cleanliness and orderliness,” the lawmaker stressed.

The month’s flag-raising ceremony was hosted by the Inter-Parliamentary and Public Affairs Department (IPAD) headed by Deputy Secretary General Atty. Gracelda Andres.
