WORKERS DISPLACED BY ECQ GET P2K AYUDA — BELMONTE

Displaced workers in Quezon City not included in the national government’s enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) cash aid will get a one-time P2,000 cash aid from the local government.

Under the Kalingang QC program, eligible beneficiaries are those who will not receive salary for the duration of the ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20.

It applies to all employment status, whether regular, probationary, seasonal, part-time, project-based, or fixed term.

“We will prioritize persons who are physically residing in Quezon City and not receiving ayuda (assistance) under the national government’s ECQ financial assistance and those who will not receive any form of cash aid,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

The implementing offices include the Social Services Development Department, Barangay Community Relations Department, Public Employment Services Office, and the Business Permits and Licensing Department.

Eligible applicants may fill up and submit application forms, together with documentary requirements, to their villages.

Documentary requirements include the QCitizen or government-issued identification, which indicates the address of the beneficiary, and a certification from the employer or pay slip showing non-receipt of salary for the covered period.

Self-employed individuals may present their residence certificate and the undertaking that their jobs are not allowed to operate during ECQ, leaving them without income.

Approved applicants may receive the cash aid via direct cash payout, electronic or digital means, cash card payments. or transfer of funds.

About P1.2 billion financial assistance to almost 600,000 residents was released during the first implementation of the Kalingang QC last year.
