BAGUIO TO STRICTLY ENFORCE ANTI-LITTERING LAW

Tourists going to Baguio City should be mindful of the trash they will throw.

The city will be strictly implementing the Environment Code and other related laws including the Anti-Littering ordinance.

“The parking personnel will serve as an augmentation force to the Baguio City Police Office and the Public Order and Safety Division in monitoring littering in addition to their regular duties in their areas of assignment.”

Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ordered the deputation of parking attendants as environmental officers.

“The parking personnel will serve as an augmentation force to the Baguio City Police Office and the Public Order and Safety Division in monitoring littering in addition to their regular duties in their areas of assignment,” Magalong said.

According to the mayor, littering continues to be a persistent problem in Baguio despite the placement of garbage bins.

He specifically noted that this happens around the central business district where people mostly converge.

“As deputized personnel, the parking aides are authorized to apprehend and to issue citation tickets to violators,” Magalong stressed.
