CAPIZ GETS 535 HOUSES FROM TF YOLANDA – NOGRALES

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles led the online turnover of 535 free housing units to beneficiaries in Jamindan, Capiz last November 24, 2020, in coordination with the Task Force Yolanda, the National Housing Authority and local government leaders.

Nograles heads the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Unified Implementation and Monitoring of Rehabilitation and Recovery Projects and Programs in Yolanda-affected Areas.

According to the NHA, as of October 2020, out of the planned 123,535 housing units for Region 6, 89,491 have already been completed, with the remaining 22,869 units undergoing construction.

“This is the 16th virtual turn over of Yolanda units. The successful distribution is the result of an effective and continuing partnership between the national government, LGUs, and stakeholders,” the Malacañang official said.

The Cabinet Secretary thanked Mayor Mac Arthur Valdemar, Vice Mayor Ildefonso Cusay,  Sangguniang Bayan members and municipal officials and staff for their cooperation and coordination.

Special mention was likewise made of the “selfless public service” of NHA General Manager Marcelino Escalada, Regional Manager Engr. Antonio Del Rosario and District Manager Dominica San Diego who all supervised the project from start to finish.

“Our Yolanda housing project is a testament to the Duterte administration’s commitment to improving the lives of the people of Capiz, especially those affected by Typhoon Yolanda and whose lives need to move forward after years of waiting for government assistance.”
