DOH BRINGS ‘SERBISYO FAIR’ TO ILOILO

Reflecting a steadfast commitment to community welfare, the “Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair” (BPSF) unfolded its two-day event at Guimbal National High School, Guimbal, Iloilo recently.

Organized by the House of Representatives (HOR) through the Office of Speaker Martin Romualdez, the fair united a diverse array of national and local stakeholders.

The BPSF serves as a comprehensive showcase of government programs and services aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of public services.

Aligned with the Bagong Pilipinas Campaign (Memorandum Circular No. 24), the BPSF serves as a comprehensive showcase of government programs and services aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of public services.

The collaborative efforts of the National Secretariat, which includes the Office of the President, the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Presidential Communications Office, and the House of Representatives, alongside various participating national government agencies, signify a significant stride towards holistic community development.

Present during the event were Romualdez, Congresswoman Janette Garin, Congressman Ferjenel Biron and various representatives.

Health Secretary Ted Herbosa led the DOH delegation, along with Undersecretaries Maria Francia Laxamana and Abdullah Dumama Jr., Regional Director Adriano Suba-an and Assistant Regional Director Dr. Ma. Sophia Pulmones from the Western Visayas Center for Health Development, key personnel from the Special Concerns Team, Field Implementation and Coordination Team (Visayas and Mindanao), and representatives from DOH-retained hospitals and Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers in the region also took part in this festival of services.

With Laxamana and Dumama, Herbosa also visited the Western Visayas Medical Center and Don Jose Monfort Medical Center and Western Visayas Sanitarium.

The services provided during the fair included a Know-Tell Van Integrated Health Service Delivery with services such as PhilPEN Assessment and Management of Lifestyle-Related Diseases, Mental Health Assessment, Sexual Activity Assessment, HEEADSSS, TB Screening, HIV screening, Oral Health Program, Health Promotion Activities, National Tuberculosis Program, National Immunization Program, Nutrition Program, and Laboratory Services.

Emphasizing the event’s significance, Herbosa symbolically turned over HERBMAP Kits, Medicines, Walkers, Single Canes, Olyset nets, Olyset Rolls, PPE sets, and hygiene kits during the opening program.

Expanding the reach beyond Guimbal, simultaneous Serbisyo Fairs were conducted in Tubungan, Miagao, San Joaquin, Oton, Tigbauan, and Igbaras.

The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair serves as a powerful testament to the government’s commitment to foster community engagement and uplift the well-being of its citizens. The collaborative efforts of national and local leaders, combined with the active participation of various government agencies, position the BPSF as a catalyst for positive change in the province of Iloilo.

“This is one proof that sa Bagong Pilipinas Bawat Buhay ay Mahalaga,” the health chief concluded.
