DPWH FINISHES BATANGAS SLOPE PROTECTION PROJECT

In an effort to provide safer access for locals and tourists, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the improvement of another 226-meter portion of the Taal Lake Circumferential Road in Balete, Batangas.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 4A Director Jovel Mendoza said that the multi-year road improvement of Taal Lake Circumferential Road has received an allocation of P58 million from the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA) to cover slope protection along section in Barangay Looc.

DPWH has completed various road improvement works along Taal Lake Circumferential Road, covering 720 meters in 2019, 1.86 kilometers in 2020, 230 meters in 2021, and 290 meters in 2022.

“The enhanced connectivity is expected to attract more visitors to Balete, allowing them to explore the natural beauty and cultural richness the region offers,” he concluded.
