DTI: BASIC GOODS PRICES STABLE UNTIL END DECEMBER

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured consumers that prices for DTI-supervised Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs) will remain stable, with no price increases for items on the agency’s official monitoring list until December 31, 2026.

The agency also confirmed that supplies of these essential goods remain sufficient to meet household needs nationwide.

The DTI clarified that this price commitment specifically covers the list of essential food and non-food items included in the official Suggested Retail Price (SRP) bulletin managed by the Department.

The updated list covers 190 SKUs/products under DTI monitoring, which serve as the reference standard for retailers and consumers.

To ensure transparency and help consumers identify which specific products are covered, the official SRP bulletin has been made widely available through in-store postings in supermarkets and groceries nationwide, as well as online via the official DTI website and social media channels.

“There will be no price increase for basic necessities and prime commodities under DTI’s supervision until December 31, 2026.”

Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque issued the assurance amid public concerns over the possible impact of El Niño on prices and the availability of essential goods.

“There will be no price increase for basic necessities and prime commodities under DTI’s supervision until December 31, 2026,” Roque said.

“We assure the public that manufacturers and retailers have guaranteed enough supply for these listed products.

“We assure the public that manufacturers and retailers have guaranteed enough supply for these listed products. There is no need for panic buying or hoarding,” the trade chief added.

The DTI continues its close coordination with manufacturers and retailers to monitor inventories, maintain steady deliveries and keep DTI-covered essential goods accessible at stable prices across grocery stores and supermarkets nationwide.

Consumers are encouraged to check the official DTI BNPC list when shopping.

For questions regarding covered products, or to report price violations and supply issues involving listed BNPCs, the public may contact the DTI Hotline at 1-384 or email consumercare@dti.gov.phor ReporttoSec@dti.gov.ph.
