Vena Energy is advancing 2.6 GWp of renewable energy capacity in the Philippines, comprising projects under construction and contracted projects, supported by a planned ₱2453-billion investment.
These projects will strengthen the country’s clean power supply and support the electricity needs of rapidly growing industries.
Singapore-headquartered Vena Energy presented these expansion plans during a business meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The engagement was held as part of the President’s visit to Singapore, with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina Roque and Department of Finance Secretary Frederick Go joining the discussions.
“Reliable and competitive power infrastructure is vital for scaling industries and growing investments.”
“Reliable and competitive power infrastructure is vital for scaling industries and growing investments. Vena Energy’s strategic capacity expansion directly strengthens our clean energy grid, ensuring that our expanding industrial sectors have dependable, sustainable power to fuel long-term operations,” Roque said.
Operating in the Philippines since 2014, Vena Energy has 0.9GWp of operational capacity, including solar facilities in Ilocos Norte and Negros Occidental. A further 1.3 GWp is under construction while another 1.3 GWp is contracted. Together, these projects represent approximately 2.6 GWp of capacity under construction or contract.
Discussions during the meeting also centered on Vena Energy’s wider renewable energy and energy storage pipeline, accelerating project development, and streamlining grid integration. Vena Energy’s active participation in the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program further supports the deployment of much-needed clean energy capacity.
“Vena Energy’s projects will support the Philippines’ transition to clean and accessible energy, helping ensure a more reliable and sustainable power supply. Renewable energy remains a leading investment sector in the country, consistently ranking among the top industries in investment approvals and Green Lane-supported projects. These investments advance the administration’s efforts to lower electricity costs and strengthen energy security,” Go explained.
To ensure swift project execution, the Philippine government cited robust investment support frameworks, including tax incentives under the CREATE MORE Act and expedited permit processing through Green Lanes under Executive Order No. 18, which streamlines regulatory coordination across national agencies and local government units.
“Our priority is to translate investor confidence into immediate operational momentum.”
“Our priority is to translate investor confidence into immediate operational momentum. Through our Green Lanes and investment incentives under CREATE MORE, we can help qualified projects navigate approvals and proceed with greater certainty. The DTI stands ready to turn investor confidence into operating projects that will strengthen the Philippine economy,” Roque added.
Vena Energy was represented by Chief Executive Officer Nitin Apte, Chief Operating Officer Juan Mas Valor and Head of Philippines at Vena Energy Samrinder Nehria.
Joining the Philippine delegation were Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo Macaraig and Philippine Trade and Investment Centre–Singapore Commercial Counsellor Carla Grepo.
