LACSON LEADS WALK FOR AUTISM IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson, together with the Autism Society of the Philippines – Bacolod Chapter, led the “Angels Walk for Autism” at SM City Bacolod, bringing together families, advocates, and community partners in a shared call for inclusion.

The event aims to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder, while strengthening support for individuals on the spectrum and their families.

It also highlights the need for more responsive community initiatives and sustained government programs that promote equal opportunities.

Lacson emphasized that true inclusion goes beyond physical presence. 

“It calls for understanding, opportunity, and respect, so that every individual is not only welcomed, but also empowered to grow and succeed.”

He also expressed his appreciation for ASP’s continued advocacy, noting that for over 25 years, the organization has played a vital role in deepening public understanding and appreciation of individuals with autism.

Lacson extended his gratitude to all families, advocates, volunteers, and partners who continue to champion the cause with dedication and purpose, helping build a more inclusive and compassionate society.
