To give hospital patients a more pleasant stay while seeking medical attention, Governor Sol Aragones turned over new reclining chairs to the Laguna Medical Center (LMC), intended mainly for consultation and service waiting zones.
The new chairs will be installed in the Emergency Room and other hospital sections — especially in areas where patients wait for their turn to be checked and treated.
Aragones, however, made it clear that other government hospital will soon receive the same equipment.
The lady governor explained that the additional seating was needed because of the high volume of patients coming to the hospital. Many of them spend long hours waiting on ordinary monoblock chairs even when they are already feeling unwell.
“Sa dami ng mga pasyente, minsan ay naghihintay ang mga pasyente na nakaupo sa monoblocks kahit masama ang kanilang pakiramdam.”
“Ang tendency ay sa dami ng mga pasyente, minsan ay naghihintay ang mga pasyente na nakaupo sa monoblocks kahit masama ang kanilang pakiramdam,” she said.
Aragones noted that this improvement forms part of interim adjustments while the provincial government moves forward with plans to expand hospital facilities.
“Ayaw natin na pansamantalang mahirapan ang mga pasyente sa paghihintay.”
“Ito ay ginagawa natin dahil magkakaroon ng extension sa LMC. Habang hindi pa natatapos ang mga pagpapalawak na ito, ayaw natin na pansamantalang mahirapan ang mga pasyente sa paghihintay. Importante po na komportable ang mga pasyente,” she added.
Aside from LMC, facility expansions are also scheduled for the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial Provincial District Hospital in Calamba City and the San Pablo City District Hospital. These projects are designed to boost public‑hospital capacity and upgrade amenities to better meet the healthcare needs of Laguna residents.
Through the donation of reclining chairs and continuous facility upgrades, the Provincial Government of Laguna under Aragones keeps working toward better healthcare services and a more comfortable hospital experience for all Lagunenses.
