Senator Bong Go highlighted the importance of technical-vocational education in equipping Filipinos with practical skills and expanding their employment opportunities as his team joined the graduation of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority scholars in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
The graduation ceremony was held at the Full Force Education and Training Academy Inc. for scholars who completed Driving NC II and Driving NC III programs funded through the Office of Senator Bong Go.
“Binabati ko ang lahat ng graduates. Ang inyong natutunan sa training ay magagamit ninyo sa paghahanapbuhay at sa pagtulong sa inyong mga pamilya,” Go said in a message.
The veteran legislator encouraged the graduates to apply their training responsibly and continue improving their knowledge and skills as they pursue employment or other livelihood opportunities.
“Gamitin ninyo nang tama ang inyong kaalaman.”
“Gamitin ninyo nang tama ang inyong kaalaman. Mahalaga ang disiplina, pag-iingat, at pagsunod sa batas-trapiko para maprotektahan ang inyong sarili at ang ibang gumagamit ng kalsada,” the seasoned lawmaker said.
Driving NC II provides learners with competencies related to operating light motor vehicles, conducting basic vehicle checks, and observing road safety procedures.
Driving NC III develops additional competencies required for operating larger or more specialized vehicles, subject to applicable training and licensing requirements.
The senator said technical-vocational programs provide learners with practical qualifications that can help them respond to available work opportunities in transportation, logistics, delivery services, and other related sectors.

“Malaking tulong ang skills training para sa mga kababayan nating nais magkaroon ng trabaho o dagdag na pagkakakitaan. Dapat patuloy nating ilapit ang ganitong mga programa sa mas maraming Pilipino,” he added.
During the activity, 50 graduates received grocery packs, snacks, balls, pens and vitamins. Pairs of shoes and a mobile phone were also prepared as raffle prizes for selected graduates.
Go has supported measures intended to make education more accessible to learners from different circumstances. He is one of the authors and co-sponsors of Republic Act No. 11510, or the Alternative Learning System Act, which institutionalized a parallel learning system for out-of-school children, youth, and adults who are unable to complete basic education through the formal school system.
Go is also one of the authors and co-sponsors of RA 12077, or the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act, which allows qualified students to defer payments on education-related loans during declared disasters and emergencies.
He encouraged the graduates to continue building their qualifications and to approach their future work with discipline and concern for public safety.
“Simula pa lamang ito ng inyong paglalakbay. Patuloy kayong magsikap, mag-aral, at gamitin ang inyong kakayahan sa maayos at responsableng paraan,” Go concluded.
