MANGALDAN, PANGASINAN MARKS ‘BUNTIS DAY 2023’

A total of 238 pregnant women gathered at the Mangaldan Infirmary and Urgent Care Clinic in Pangasinan to attend the Buntis Day 2023 Celebration spearheaded by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mangaldan under the leadership of Mayor Bona Fe De Vera Parayno.

Upholding the theme, “B.untis O.naen N.atan la A.sikasuen”, De Vera Parayno, who pioneered the program starting her first term as the local chief executive in the town, stressed the importance of raising awareness to maternal health for would-be mothers.

“Pregnant women should not give birth at their home to ensure their safety and of their babies.”

Dr. Larry Sarito, Municipal Health Officer, reminded the pregnant women not to give birth at their home, to ensure their safety and of their babies.

The program highlights lecture on Antenatal and Postnatal Check-ups, Immunization, Breastfeeding and Family Planning, discussed by the town’s midwives comprising of Maria Regina Ocsan, Imelda Fernandez, Norie Biason and Amalia Biasbas, in order to obtain vital information to a healthy and safe pregnancy. 

Buntis kits were also distributed to the participants of the event.

The lady mayor also led the inauguration of the newly-renovated Mangaldan Municipal Birthing Clinic that will provide better labor and childbirth services.

The blessing of the birthing facility was officiated by Rev. Fr. Jojo Rendon.
