As heavy rainfall induced by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) causes flooding and localized landslides across several provinces, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) remained on high alert and on the ground, delivering immediate rescue and welfare support.
“Our Red Cross chapters and emergency rescue units are actively responding on the ground—rescuing stranded residents and even pets, while delivering emergency food supplies to communities affected by rising floodwaters,” PRC Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon said.

In the province of Cavite, response teams from PRC Dasmariñas Branch and Silang Branch were deployed in Brgy. Gahak, Kawit, Cavite, assisting in rescue operations—including household pets—and distributing fresh Gardenia bread to affected residents.
In Romblon, a landslide occurred at Brgy. Limon Norte, Looc, Romblon, where heavy rains caused loose soil to give way under a store extension. No casualties or injuries were reported as the structure was unoccupied.
In Oriental Mindoro, flooding ranging from 1 ft to knee-deep has been reported across multiple barangays in Baco (Sitios Tiboy, Paranga, Boulevard, Matining, and Nagpilian), Victoria (Brgy. Mabini), and Calapan City (Brgy. Lalud Riverside), as verified by RC143 volunteers on the ground.
In Zambales, PRC teams reported that low-lying areas and roads across Sta. Cruz (Brgys. Bayto, East Poblacion, Sto. Tomas, San Juan, and Liozon) and Iba (Brgys. Palanginan, LDP, Zone 2, Zone 6, and Dirita) experienced floodwaters ranging from below knee-deep to knee-deep levels.
