TEACHERS CAMP OPEN TO MOTORISTS UNTIL JAN. 20

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong is grateful to Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte.

Duterte has approved Magalong’s request to open a road inside Teachers’ Camp to private vehicles on a trial period until Jan. 20, 2023 to help ease traffic at Leonard Wood Road.

“It would alleviate the traffic condition in the area especially during this peak tourist season.”

“It would alleviate the traffic condition in the area especially during this peak tourist season,” the mayor said.

On weekends, Teachers Camp will be open longer, from 7am to 8pm.

Private vehicles are allowed to pass through Teachers Camp’s inner street connecting Leonard Wood Road and South Drive Road on weekdays, 6am-9am and 4pm-7pm. On weekends, Teachers Camp will be open longer, from 7am to 8pm.

Magalong had expressed profound gratitude to Duterte for granting the long-standing request.

“I am filled with gratitude that VP Sara finally heard us and gave us this chance,” he said.

The Vice President’s approval, however, is subject to conditions: the scheme will be implemented on an experimental basis until Jan. 20, 2023 and that there will be close police monitoring during operational hours.

“This is to protect the safety and security of the premises as well as the motorists and pedestrians entering the area,” Duterte said.
