WE NEED THE YOUTH TO WORK TOGETHER WITH THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE NATION – GO

Former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go said he plans to put up a sports and development center in every local government unit that will provide the youth with free training, equipment, coaching and even mentoring in entrepreneurship.

In line with his advocacy to empower the youth, Go said that if elected to the Senate, he will push for the provision of free school supplies and other education related needs such as uniforms for students to finish schooling.

This, the former palace official said, will augment the free education act signed by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Aside from free tuition, it is also equally important to provide students the necessary tools to finish schooling,” Go added.

In his speech during the National Youth Parliament in Davao City, Go highlighted the key role played by the youth in the development of the country, as they will be the ones to “benefit from the prosperous and safe future they sow today”.

“I am very glad to see our youth leaders gathered here to acquire the necessary tools, knowledge and skills in advocacy and policy-making. This will certainly be useful in performing your duties as Sangguniang Kabataan leaders and in honing your abilities as future leaders of your communities, localities and our country,” Go said.

“Sana ay ipagpatuloy ninyo ang inyong magagandang gawain at sana ay ibahagi niyo rin ang mga natutunan ninyo sa kaganapang ito sa mga kabataan sa inyong lugar. Higit kailanman, kailangan ng ating pamahalaan ng mga kabataang magiging kaagapay sa pag-aangat ng ating bayan (I hope you will all continue your good deeds and share your learnings to the youth in your respective areas. Now more than ever, we need the youth to work together with the government for the nation),” he added.

In the same event, Go said he will study the suggestion of NYC Chairman Ronald Cardema and other Sangguniaang Kabataan (SK) leaders to amend the SK Reform Act so that government can provide allowances to all SK officials in the fulfillment of their duties.
