GAB EYES SEMINARS ON SPORTS LAW FOR STAKEHOLDERS

Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Atty. Francisco Rivera, together with Legal Division Chief Atty. Erose Marlo Laeno and Special Project Unit Head Dr. Jesucito Garcia, met with renowned sports lawyer and educator Atty. Alberto Agra at the GAB Central Office in Makati City.

The meeting focused on a potential partnership to conduct Sports Law and Governance seminars and workshops aimed at equipping not only GAB personnel but also professional athletes, coaches, promoters, and other stakeholders with a deeper understanding of sports law, governance, and regulatory compliance.

During the meeting, Rivera presented Agra with a copy of the newly published “GAB Handbook on the Agency’s Core Processes”, recognizing its value as an educational resource that complements Agra’s advocacy of empowering athletes, coaches, and other sports practitioners through education in sports law and governance.

“I hope that GAB’s collaboration with Atty. Agra will eventually result in greater compliance, accountability, and professionalism across the Philippine professional sports community.”

“If our stakeholders are educated about sports law, there will be greater compliance,” Rivera stressed.

Underscoring the importance of strengthening knowledge of sports law and governance, Rivera hopes that GAB’s collaboration with Agra will eventually result in greater compliance, accountability, and professionalism across the Philippine professional sports community.
